  1. You is the fifth studio album by the progressive rock band Gong, released by Virgin Records in October It is the last album by Daevid Allen's iteration of the group until 's menvandlconnantydeconseedeslisurdsouth.coinfoed at Virgin's Manor Studios in Oxfordshire, England, side 1 was mixed at Pye Studios, Marble Arch, London, while side 2 was mixed at The Manor. It was produced by Simon Heyworth and Gong.
  2. Jun 03,  · It's the sidemen who star on "You", leaving Daevid Allen's short pieces in the shade as they take the space rock developed on "Flying Teapot" and "Angel's Egg" to a new level. The best tracks on this LP are the 3 loooong tracks "Master Builder", "A sprinkling of clouds" and "Isle of Everywhere".
  3. Unfortunately, it was so long, at over 55 minutes, that the sound quality suffered due to the limitations of a vinyl LP. Thankfully, a newly-remastered CD was released in December of with.
  4. Psychedelic trailblazers Gong will be the subject of the new box set Love From Planet Gong: The Virgin Years , to be released by UMC on 27 September.
  5. Instead of track 11 being on the CD, a 12 + minute track, it just repeats the previous track. AND OF COURSE, one of the best songs on the whole album is track 11, ISLE OF EVERYWHERE. SO, if you are in the market for this title, DO NOT BUY THIS AMAZON SOLD CD-R EDITION! You will be cheated out of almost 13 minutes of music.
  6. Arguably Gong’s finest album, ‘You’ was the third and final instalment in their beloved Radio Gnome Trilogy, bringing Zero The Hero’s story to a close. ’s Flying Teapot album opened.
  7. View credits, reviews, tracks and shop for the Vinyl release of You on Discogs. Label: Virgin - V • Format: Vinyl LP, Album • Country: UK • Genre: Rock • .
  8. Dec 28,  · You is my favourite of the classic Flying Teapot trilogy and marks the exact halfway point in the band's evolutionary arc between an anarcho-buddhist comedy collective and a seriously groundbreaking jazz-rock outfit. As such, this album, in a certain sense, is the best Gong album, being the best of both Gongs/5(53).
  9. Jun 08,  · I loved the album from start to end, and I still do. Every track is an adventure, the production is superb, the use of synths are very innovative and the instrumental skill are top notch. Gong made many good albums, some very funny, some too psychadelic, some more avantgarde oriented, but You is a complete album/5().
